Warm Up America! provides warmth to those in need through sixth annual ‘Made With Love’ event
Carrollton, TX (January 6, 2020) - Winter may not be as chilly here in the south as it is in other states, but it can still get pretty cold. What if you didn’t have a warm hat, scarf or pair of gloves to keep you warm on the coldest days of the year?
Warm Up America!’s sixth annual ‘Made With Love’ event will share some love and warmth with people who might not have the benefit of these items. Planned for Jan. 11, 2020, the event will leave knitted and crocheted hats, scarves and gloves with tags that say: “Take me, I’m yours!” hanging from trees and fences in Dallas for people to take and use to keep warm.
“It brings me such joy to be able to help out with this event each year,” WUA! volunteer Cheri Prachniak said about the event. “I consider it an honor to be able to serve our community in this way and I love connecting and talking to those we give to in such a meaningful and impactful way.”
The goal is to collect 7,500 donations. Anyone who would like to donate a knitted or crocheted hat, scarf or pair of mittens or gloves (note: items can be any size from child to adult) can drop or mail them to the Warm Up America! office:

ABOUT WARM UP AMERICA!
Started in a small Wisconsin town with neighbors knitting and crocheting afghans for neighbors in need, Warm Up America! is a charity that has warmed people's lives since 1991. Founder Evie Rosen came up with the idea of having volunteers knit or crochet small sections and then others join them together to make a full afghan, which quickly caught on. Thanks to the generosity of knitters and crocheters around the country, today Warm Up America! distributes warm blankets, hats and other items to tens of thousands of people in need.
